Hot rods and custom cars are powerful symbols of rebellion, invention, and a high-octane lifestyle that has continued to evolve for most of a century. Since the 1940s, these remarkable restyled automobiles have occupied a unique place in American popular mythology. Hear from Northeastern alumnus Jack DeWitt, LA’66, author of Cool Cars, High Art: The Rise of Kustom Kulture, about the history of this subculture, its artistic achievements, and the motorheads who transformed mass-produced products of industry into legitimate works of art.
On November 17 at noon, I'll be giving this talk for Northeastern University over Zoom.
